Mapúa Malayan Colleges Mindanao (Mapúa MCM), through its Center for International Programs (CIP) under the Office for Corporate Partnerships, successfully conducted the GO GLOBAL: SGE Orientation & International Fair 2026 on February 10 via Zoom, equipping students with valuable insights into international academic and cultural opportunities.
The initiative forms part of the Student Global Experience (SGE) program, which prepares students for international academic and cultural opportunities through conferences, exchanges, virtual collaborations, and immersive learning experiences. The event catered primarily to students enrolled in the SGE course, while also welcoming other students interested in exploring international pathways. A total of 160 participants from various programs, including Computer Science, Civil Engineering, Information Systems, Multimedia Arts, Psychology, and others, joined the session, reflecting strong interest in global learning opportunities across disciplines.

The program featured an overview of the SGE course, followed by presentations from international partner institutions and organizations, including Universitas Esa Unggul, Youth Ambassadors, Lakbay Davao Travel & Tours, and With The World. Each partner showcased programs that support academic mobility, cultural exchange, and professional development. A key highlight of the event was the interactive breakout sessions, where students engaged directly with representatives to explore participation requirements and opportunities. The event was also livestreamed via Facebook, extending its reach and accessibility to a wider audience.

Students expressed positive feedback on the experience, emphasizing both its relevance and accessibility. Mr. Yves Rael Brillantes a 3rd year student from BS Entertainment and Multimedia Computing shared, “It’s a good activity for those who seek adventures outside of the Philippines,” highlighting the event’s role in encouraging global exploration. Ms. Aleiah Bianca Pinto, a 3rd year student from Psychology, noted the smooth flow of the online session and appreciated the structured breakout discussions that allowed meaningful interaction. Participants also recognized the opportunity to connect with individuals from different cultural backgrounds, further enriching their global perspective.
Through this initiative GO GLOBAL, Mapúa MCM continues to strengthen its commitment to internationalization by creating platforms that connect students with global partners and opportunities. The activity aligned with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), reinforcing the institution’s mission to deliver globally competitive and culturally responsive education.
