Mapúa Malayan Colleges Mindanao, a school of global standards and local significance, is a top choice for many students. The Center for Scholarships and Financial Assistance (CSFA) plays a crucial role in this, providing students with a variety of scholarships in Davao, academic grants, financial aid, and other services to deserving students in need.

These services provide families with options to bridge education-related expenses. Mapúa Malayan Colleges Mindanao provides diverse and continually improving financial aid for college students through various scholarships in Davao and financial assistance programs. We also coordinate with government agencies, private institutions, and individuals to complement our programs and reach out to more families.

Goal and Purpose:

  • Our primary goal is to provide students who are financially distressed with the opportunity to continue their studies. We achieve this through a range of scholarships in Davao and financial aid for college students, ensuring that no deserving student is left behind.
  • Stipulate the requirements, qualifications, benefits, and any important details about the different educational grants scholarships and financial aid for college students provided by Mapúa MCM.

Note:

  • No student shall simultaneously acquire two or more MMCM-sponsored scholarships in Davao or financial aid for college students unless stated otherwise.
  • At Mapúa MCM, we ensure a fair and transparent process for awarding scholarships. Students are eligible for multiple MMCM-sponsored scholarships in Davao or educational grant scholarships will be awarded the one of the highest value unless otherwise stated. In the case of scholarships with similar benefits, the student can choose which one to apply for.

INSTITUTIONAL SCHOLARSHIP

Benefits:

  • Free full tuition, L/F/D, and miscellaneous fees
  • Learning materials worth P2,000 per term

Retention Policy:

  • 12 academic units of course load for trimester; or
  • 18 academic units of course load for the semester; or
  • 15 academic units of course load for night curriculum / and obtain a credit term average of 2.00 or better at the end of the term or semester.

Qualifications:

  • Recent ITR of both parents, with a combined annual income of P300,000 or less
  • GWA of 90% above

Retention Policy: The student must not have failing grades and must obtain a credit term average of 2.00 or better at the end of each term for one academic year.

Qualification: The scholarship grants are given to applicants who are granted with Highest Honors, High Honors, and Honors (GWA 90% or better) in a school class of at least 20 Grade 12 graduates. Only 2 students per school are allowed.

This scholarship is given to students who got selected for the Mapúa MCM Basketball Varsity Team. 15 slots will be allotted to the team members (HS and College). 

Benefits:  

Student athletes are awarded 50% Matriculation discount (TF, LFD, DLM and Misc. Fees), upon being selected as official member of the MMCM Varsity Team. 

ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP

Qualification: A student must satisfy the following requirements to be included in the President’s List in a particular term and belongs to the top spot/spots for each program:

  1. Must have a Term-Weighted Average (TWA) of 1.75 or better
  2. Must not have any course grade of “5.00”, “FA”, “F”, “INC”, “IP”, “ABS” or “C”.
  3. Must have taken at least:
    1. 12 academic units of course load for trimester; or
    2. 18 academic units of course load for semester; or
    3. 15 academic units of course load for night curriculum.
    4. Has not been academically dismissed (out of the program) from a previous program
    5. Has not received a course grade of DRP (Dropping of Course) for the term
    6. Has been cleared by the Prefect of Discipline from any record of commission of a major offense

Note: The Deans must endorse the list of programs with less than the required number of units load per term or semester to the CSFA for them to be considered.

Benefits:

50% Discount on tuition fees only for all terms from time of application until the student graduates (max of 18 units per term).

The installment plan allows for full tuition through flexible payment plans in 12 monthly installments with affordable interest rates.

The Early Bird discount is offered for the Mapúa MCM incoming new students applying for the undergraduate programs available to all college, senior high school, and junior high school enrollees for the first term of an academic year.

Qualifiers:

1. The Early Bird Discount will be given to all qualified incoming college freshmen, senior high school, junior high school, and transferee applicants who paid the reservation fee during the set payment period. On the month of February ’til March, a Php 5,000 discount on the total matriculation fee will be for the first term only.

Benefits:

1. Those eligible for the Early Bird Discount will receive a one–time Php 5,000.00 discount on matriculation fees upon enrollment within the set payment period.

2. Discount will be on top of the DOST, TES, CHED or any government-sponsored scholarships and grants for freshmen. 3. Discount will be on top of the DEPED Vouchers (ESC, QVA and Public) for incoming Grade 11 students.

Conditions for Availment:

1. The Early Bird Discount will only apply if the applicant pays the reservation fee on or before the set deadline. The deadline will be decided by the Admissions Office.

2. Transferee applicants are eligible to avail themselves of this promotional discount.

3. The Institution may discontinue the Early Bird Promotional Discount Program at any time.

4. Availment of the promotional discount is one-time only.

5. Those who settled payments through online channels must email their proof of payment to the Treasury Office for validation.

6. The Early Bird Discount cannot be used to cover any existing balance for Mapúa MCM for Grade 12 graduates who will be availing the discount.

The Loyalty Discount is an offer available for Mapúa MCM Grade 12 students applying for any college program for the first semester of S.Y. 2024-2025.

Qualifiers:

1. The G12 MMCM Loyalty Discount is for incoming college new students who belong to the current MMCM Grade 12 Senior High School. This will be starting on the month February onwards toward the end of the enrollment period.

2. To retain the discount: The recipient must have no disciplinary action imposed for a major offense during the term. Students with disciplinary record for any major offense are disqualified for the scholarship.

Benefits:

1. Those eligible for the Grade 12 MMCM Loyalty Discount will receive a discount for the following terms of SY 2024-2025:

First Term – 10% off matriculation fees

Second Term – 15% off matriculation fees

Third Term –  20% off matriculation fees

Conditions for Availment:

1. The Grade 12 MMCM Loyalty Discount is available for all incoming college new students who come from MMCM Grade 12 Senior High School.

2. Availment of the promotional discount is one-time only and applicable for the first term of the academic year. This does not go on top of other discounts (except for Early Bird) — only the largest discount will apply.

THIRD PARTY SCHOLARSHIPS AND GRANTS

The CHED Scholarship Programs provide financial support to eligible students, ensuring access to a quality higher education. The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) launched this effort to help and empower students in reaching their academic and professional goals.

The Junior Level Science Scholarship

(JLSS) Program aims to: provide scholarships that will finance the education of talented and deserving students in their third year of college and who are pursuing degree programs in the areas of science and technology: and ensure a steady, adequate supply of qualified S&T human resources who can steer the country towards national progress.

Davao City Educational Benefit System Unit (EBSU) is accepting indigent and deserving students who want to proceed to tertiary education. Scholarships are offered through the city government’s Scholarship on Tertiary Education Program (STEP).

EBSU, for the school year 2023-2024, has provided a list of approved priority courses for STEP. These courses are divided into four categories: Teacher Education, Information and Technology Education, Health Profession Education, and Social Sciences. 

Each STEP scholar will get Php 25,000 per semester. Eligible scholars may choose the course and the school they will enroll in, however, applications for state universities are not accepted.

A GSIS Scholarship Program (GSP) aims to extend aid to children or dependents of low-income GSIS members and permanent total disability (PTD) pensioners below 60 years of age. The pension fund will shoulder the tuition and miscellaneous fees up to Php40,000.00 per academic year and Php3,000 allowance per month of each scholar. 40 will be allotted to dependents of persons with disabilities, indigenous peoples, and solo or single parents.

For parents, to get your SSS (Social Security System) educational loan form approved, you must meet the following criteria:

  • 60 years old or younger by the end of the installment term
  • Actively paying: at least 36 contributions, including six payments within 12 month prior to the application
  • Receive less than PHP 25,000 a month as an overall income
  • Have no delays in paying any other loans issued by SSS.

Your beneficiaries do not have to meet all these criteria. For example, your children can use your SSS membership without registering themselves.
