On June 12, 2023, Mapúa Malayan Colleges Mindanao participated in the Kalayaan Job Fair at the SM City Davao – Annex Event Center. The Job Fair was organized by the Department of Labor and Employment XI, together with Mapúa MCM, PESO Davao, and SM Supermalls.
This event provided opportunities for individuals to apply and be recruited onsite at various companies, including Mapúa MCM for prospective job opportunities.
The employers set up booths in the Annex Event center where staff members were stationed to answer questions from the applicants about the company, its job openings, the application process, and to conduct on-the-spot interviews.
One student from Mapúa MCM also applied for a summer job sharing that she wants to gain some experience during the school break.
The Mapúa MCM Office Human Resource Department conducted interviews for applicants who are interested in a career with Mapúa MCM. Some notable companies such as SM Supermalls, Vitarich Corporation, Toyota, Amesco Drug Corporation, and McDonalds were some of the participating employers.
“We have gathered around 38 employers and 9 overseas. On a regular day you cannot gather these employers in one place, so it is convenient and cost-effective for the applicants.” Ms. Lorraine Grace Ugsang, Employment Focal Person of the Department of Labor and Employment XI, shared during the event.
The Kalayaan Job Fair saw great success with 4167 applicants hired on the spot from over 3,000 job vacancies as shared by SM Supermalls Mindanao.
