Mapúa MCM Strengthens Commitment to Educational Excellence Through ISO 21001:2018 P2 Audit

Mapúa Malayan Colleges Mindanao (Mapúa MCM) continues to strengthen its commitment to educational quality and institutional excellence through the ISO 21001:2018 P2 Audit, conducted by DNV-AS Philippines through a hybrid arrangement on October 20 and October 22–23, 2026.

As the second periodic audit under the institution’s ISO 21001:2018 certification, the activity provided an opportunity to evaluate the effectiveness of Mapúa MCM’s Educational Organization Management System (EOMS), assess the implementation of established institutional processes, and identify opportunities for continual improvement.

Organized by the Quality Assurance and Enhancement Office (QAEO), the audit included a remote session on October 20, followed by onsite audit activities from October 22 to 23. The evaluation covered relevant institutional processes and documented information, with participating offices demonstrating the implementation of ISO 21001:2018 requirements within their respective areas.

Beyond demonstrating continued conformity with an internationally recognized standard, the periodic audit provides Mapúa MCM with an avenue to validate the effectiveness of its systems, identify areas for improvement, and strengthen the consistency of institutional practices. The process encourages offices to examine how their respective functions contribute to institutional objectives and how established processes can be further improved to respond to the evolving needs of learners and other stakeholders.

The audit also reinforces a culture of evidence-based decision-making, accountability, and process ownership. By systematically reviewing documented information, operational practices, and the effectiveness of implemented processes, Mapúa MCM is better positioned to identify gaps, address risks, share good practices, and sustain improvements across the institution.

More importantly, the continued implementation of ISO 21001:2018 strengthens Mapúa MCM’s institutional capacity to deliver learner-centered, consistent, and responsive educational services. It provides a structured framework for aligning academic and administrative processes with institutional objectives while supporting the institution’s broader quality assurance, accreditation, and continual improvement initiatives.

Through the successful conduct of the P2 Audit, Mapúa MCM reaffirms that quality is not limited to compliance but is embedded in the way the institution plans, delivers, evaluates, and continuously improves its services. The audit therefore serves not only as a measure of conformity but as a strategic opportunity to strengthen institutional systems, build stakeholder confidence, enhance operational effectiveness, and sustain a culture of excellence.
