Mapúa MCM earned an overall rank of 1001–1500 in the Times Higher Education Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026, reflecting the institution’s continued commitment to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through excellence in education, research, and community engagement.
Mapúa Malayan Colleges Mindanao (Mapúa MCM) has reached another significant milestone in its journey toward global sustainability excellence after earning recognition in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Ratings 2026, achieving ratings across all 17 United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This accomplishment marks a remarkable expansion from the institution’s seven ranked SDGs in 2025, reflecting its growing commitment to sustainability, innovation, social responsibility, and community engagement.
The THE Impact Ratings assess schools worldwide based on their contributions to the UN Sustainable Development Goals through teaching, research, stewardship, and community partnerships. By securing recognition across all 17 SDGs, Mapúa MCM demonstrates the breadth of its institutional initiatives and reinforces its role as a higher education institution committed to creating meaningful and measurable impact both locally and globally.
Among the institution’s notable achievements were its strong performances in SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production, SDG 14 – Life Below Water, and SDG 15 – Life on Land, highlighting Mapúa MCM’s sustained efforts in environmental stewardship, responsible resource management, biodiversity conservation, and sustainability-driven research and extension programs. These accomplishments reflect the institution’s holistic approach to integrating sustainability into academic programs, research initiatives, institutional operations, and community engagement.
The recognition also celebrates the collective efforts of Mapúa MCM’s academic and administrative units, whose collaboration was instrumental in the successful preparation and submission of the institution’s THE Impact Rankings portfolio. Their shared commitment to advancing sustainable practices, strengthening institutional policies, and generating positive societal impact continues to elevate the school’s global standing.

Leading Mapúa MCM’s participation in the THE Impact Rankings 2026 were Ms. Marycon C. Delos Reyes, Director of the Center for Service-Learning and Community Engagement (CSCE), and Mr. Josef Mika-el Del Corro, Director of Innovations in Digital Environments and Learning Solutions (IDEaLS). Through the leadership of the Institute for Global Sustainability (IGS), the institution worked closely with its SDG champions, colleges, offices, and stakeholders to consolidate data and showcase Mapúa MCM’s sustainability initiatives and evidence-based contributions to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with Mr. Del Corro serving as the champion for SDG 4.
