P&A Grant Thornton and Mapúa MCM Collaborate for Student Excellence

Mapúa Malayan Colleges Mindanao formally signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with P&A Grant Thornton,  marking the start of a significant collaboration that will undoubtedly influence the direction of accounting education. This comprehensive partnership aims to enrich the academic and professional journey of students through internship opportunities for Accountancy and Management Accounting students. The MOA also allows Mapúa MCM’s active participation in the Search for Outstanding Accounting Students.

Through the establishment of a strong internship program, P&A Grant Thornton will welcome Mapúa MCM students and give them practical experience in the world of accounting as a prominent provider of audit, tax, advisory, and outsourcing services. As this partnership takes place outside of the classroom, it will provide students real-world experience and insights that will help them in their future careers.

The partnership also sets the stage for Mapúa MCM’s active involvement in the Search for Outstanding Accounting Students (SOASP). Mr. Leopoldo D. Aquino Jr., the Director of the Office for Corporate Partnerships, shares that, “This collaboration will provide students with the opportunity to apply their knowledge and gain recognition as top accounting students.”

This initiative, led by P&A Grant Thornton, is designed to recognize and celebrate the academic brilliance and potential of accounting students. Mr. Aquino says, “Knowing that Grant Thornton is the 6th largest accounting and auditing firm worldwide, the training they offer will undoubtedly provide our students with a significant advantage in terms of employability.” By participating in this SOASP, Mapúa MCM not only positions its students on a national stage but also emphasizes its commitment to excellence.
