Mapúa Malayan Colleges Mindanao Student Represents the Institution at YOCA Preneur Selangor 2025

Mapúa Malayan Colleges Mindanao (Mapúa MCM) highlighted its commitment to global engagement and youth empowerment through its participation in YOCA Preneur Selangor 2025, held from October 1 to 4, 2025, at Royale Chulan The Curve, Mutiara Damansara, Selangor, Malaysia.

Representing Mapúa MCM was Sittie Sheryam Kanapia, a 3rd Year BS Chemical Engineering student, who joined other students, young artisans, and entrepreneurs from across ASEAN in showcasing creativity, innovation, and cultural exchange within the creative economy. The event served as a meaningful platform for participants to explore the intersection of entrepreneurship and cultural heritage, fostering both business innovation and regional collaboration.

Organized by SUKASENI, YOCA Preneur Selangor 2025 provided an avenue to highlight the economic and cultural potential of the arts and crafts industry while empowering youth to preserve and promote local traditions through creative enterprise. Reflecting on her experience, Kanapia shared, “YOCA Preneur 2025 was a humbling experience that taught me so much and reminded me how much more I still have to learn.”

Through its active participation, Mapúa MCM reinforces its commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) — particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) — by continuing to nurture globally minded innovators and leaders dedicated to sustainable and inclusive development.
