Two entries from Mapúa MCM Architecture made an history for being the first from Mindanao shortlisted as finalist in the World Architecture Festival (WAF) 2024 Student Charrette which will take place on 6-8 November at the Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.

Submitted entries by Jasper Marie Arnilla and Arnel Rasheed Defensor, both 5th year architecture students, were selected as (2) of (8) finalists to compete in such a prestigious global annual event for architecture with this year’s theme: “Tomorrow” focuses on aspects of the built environment futures. With (2) advisers, the (6) member teams will explore radical design interventions that can improve both the condition and the potential of a building, place, neighborhood, or landscape.

During the World Architecture Festival (WAF), in one of the highlighted events called the Student Charrette, provides the student teams from around the globe with a unique opportunity to showcase their creative design concepts live to WAF attendees and a panel of expert judges.
