At MCM, we are committed to delivering affordable academic excellence.

Malayan Colleges Mindanao, A Mapúa School, is a school for global standards and of great significance locally and beyond; as one of the leading institutes in the country, many students desire to become a part of the MCM community. The Center for Scholarships and Financial Assistance (CSFA) provides students different scholarships, academic grants, financial aids, and all other services to deserving and students in need.

These services provide families with options to bridge education-related expenses. Malayan Colleges Mindanao provides a diverse and continually improving set of scholarship and financial assistance programs. We also coordinate with both government agencies and private institutions and individuals to complement our programs and reach out to more families.

Goal and Purpose:

  • Provide students who are financially distressed an option to continue their studies with the aid of different scholarships and/or financial assistance.
  • Stipulate the requirements, qualifications, benefits, and any important details about the different scholarships and financial assistance provided by MCM.

E.T. Yuchengco Institutional Scholarship

Sponsor: Malayan Colleges Mindanao (A Mapúa School), Inc.

Description: The scholarship is given to incoming baccalaureate students who have graduated with a GWA of 90% or above and have passed the interview. The scholarship is subject to the availability of slots.

Benefits:

  • Free full tuition, L/F/D, and miscellaneous fees
  • Learning materials worth P2,000 per term

Retention Policy:

  • 12 academic units of course load for trimester /
  • 18 academic units of course load for the semester /
  • 15 academic units of course load for night curriculum /

Must obtain a credit term average of 2.00 or better at the end of the term or semester.

Qualifications: Income of (both) parent/s must not exceed P300,000

Requirements: Copy of BIR 1701 form or any proof of annual income

E.T. YUCHENGCO INSTITUTIONAL SCHOLARSHIP SCREENING PROCEDURE

Scholarship applicants must be official applicants of MCM. To become an official applicant, they must accomplish Steps 1-2.

Send an email with the following requirements to scholarship@mcm.edu.ph.

  • Report Card with GWA of 90% and above and who complied with the required documents (Report Card/Certification)
  • Recent ITR of both parents, with a combined annual income of P300,000 or less.
  • Note: The scholarship-in-charge may verify with the Admissions Office by sending the names of those who submitted the complete scholarship requirements (Report Card with 90% GWA and ITR) to admissions@mcm.edu.ph (cc: Admissions Head).

Academic Excellence Award Scholarship

Sponsor: Malayan Colleges Mindanao (A Mapúa School), Inc.

Description: The scholarship grants are given to applicants who are granted with Highest Honors, High Honors, and Honors in a school class of at least 20 Grade 12 graduates. The basis for scholarship bracketing will be in accordance with DepEd Order no. 36, s. 2016. MCM will only accept the first two (2) students of any ranking from different schools, who shall officially enroll and comply with the required documents.

Benefits:

  • With Highest Honor: 100% on tuition and L/F/D fee discount for one academic year. General Average: 98-100
  • With High Honors: 50% on tuition and L/F/D fee discount for one academic year. General Average: 95-97
  • With Honor: 25% on tuition and L/F/D fee discount for one academic year. General Average: 90-94

Retention Policy: The student must not have failing grades and must obtain a credit term average of 2.00 or better at the end of each term for one academic year.

Requirements: Original certificate of ranking with school seal.

 

Academic Excellence Award For MCM SHS Graduates

Sponsor: Malayan Colleges Mindanao (A Mapúa School), Inc.

Description: The scholarship grants are given to the Top 20 Grade 12 SHS graduates of MCM. The basis for scholarship bracketing will be in accordance with DepEd Order no. 36, s. 2016.

Benefits:

  • With Highest Honor: 100% on tuition and L/F/D fee discount for one academic year. General Average: 98-100
  • With High Honors: 50% on tuition and L/F/D fee discount for one academic year. General Average: 95-97
  • With Honor: 25% on tuition and L/F/D fee discount for one academic year. General Average: 90-94

Retention Policy: The student must not have failing grades and must obtain a credit term average of 2.00 or better at the end of each term for one academic year.

Requirements: The CSFA shall confirm with the MCM Registrar’s Office on the official ranking of the student.

 

Early Bird Discount

Sponsor: Malayan Colleges Mindanao (A Mapúa School), Inc.

Description: The discount is granted to the first 300 MCM Grade 12 applicants to enroll or reserve a slot through the payment of the Enrollment Confirmation Fee (ECF). This scholarship is applicable on top of other MCM scholarship offerings.

Benefits: 10% discount on tuition fee only.

Retention Policy: The discount is good for one term only.

 

YGC & Ayala Promotional Discount

Sponsor: Malayan Colleges Mindanao (A Mapúa School), Inc.

Description: Either parent must be a regular employee with good standing of any YGC or Ayala company. Applications must be submitted to the Centers for Scholarship and Financial Assistance of MCM every term and must meet the deadline set by the HR and CSFA.

Benefits: 25% discount on tuition and L/F/D fees.

Requirements:

  • Certificate of Employment of parent (every semester)
  • YGC or Ayala form and waiver (provided by MCM) signed by the HR of the company (every semester)
  • PSA Marriage Certificate (photocopy)
  • PSA Birth Certificate (photocopy)

Sibling Discount

Sponsor: Malayan Colleges Mindanao (A Mapúa School), Inc.

Description: The sibling discount may be availed by a college student with at least one sibling currently enrolled at MCM. The students should be full siblings (not step or half-siblings). Note: In case the older sibling drops out and/or transfers, the discount will be pro-rated accordingly.

Benefits:

  • Younger of two – 10% discount on tuition fee
  • Youngest of three – 25% discount on tuition fee
  • Youngest of four – 40% discount on tuition fee

Requirements:

  • PSA Birth certificate of student and sibling/s currently enrolled in MCM (photocopy)

 

Dean’s List

Sponsor: Malayan Colleges Mindanao (A Mapúa School), Inc.

Description: At the end of each regular term, all colleges of MCM will recognize the exemplary academic achievement of all their students through the Dean’s List.

Qualifications: The qualifications to become a Dean’s Lister are as follows.

  • Must have a Term-Weighted Average (TWA) of 1.75 or better.
  • Must not have any grade of “5.00”, “FA”, “F”, “INC”, or “C.”
  • Must have taken at least:
    • 12 academic units of course load for a trimester; or
    • 18 academic units of course load for a semester; or
    • 15 academic units of course load for the night curriculum.
  • Must be included in the Top 5% of the total program population. The Top 5% of the total program population with a 0.8 decimal percentage or higher will be rounded off to the next whole number.
  • Must not have received any disciplinary actions or sanctions.

Note: The Deans must endorse the list of programs with less than the required number of units load per term or semester to the CSFA for them to be considered.

Category and Benefits: 

  • Partial Academic Scholarship: Dean’s Lister with TWA of 1.75 to 1.51 and belonging to the Top 5% of his/her program’s total population will be entitled to a 50% discount on tuition and laboratory fees for the succeeding regular term.
  • Full Academic Scholarship: Dean’s Lister with TWA of 1.50 to 1.00 and belonging to the Top 5% of his/her program’s total population will be entitled to a full discount on tuition and laboratory fees for the succeeding regular term.

 

Jose Rizal Scholarship

Sponsor: Center for Service-Learning and Community Engagement (CSCE)

Description: The Jose Rizal Scholarship is awarded to any applicant who has a passion for community service and adheres to the core advocacies of the institution. The program aims to impart the spirit of nationalism, volunteerism, environmental, and socio-economic awareness amongst its grantees. Applications must be submitted to the Center for Service-Learning and Community Engagement office every term and must meet the deadline set by the CSCE and Scholarship offices.

Benefits: 50% Discount on tuition and laboratory fees and may avail of the scholarship for a maximum of two (2) terms.

Retention Policy: First NSTP term should have at least a TWA of 2.5.

Qualifications: 

  • Must be a Filipino citizen.
  • Must be enrolled in an NSTP course.
  • The annual family income (combined income of parents and/or guardians) must not exceed P500,000.

Study Aid

Sponsor: Malayan Colleges Mindanao (A Mapúa School), Inc.

Description: The grant is applicable to up to 3 legitimate children of regular employees (teaching and non-teaching). It is applicable up to the total number of units prescribed by the program. In case the student transfers from one program to another, the grant is applicable to the total number of units of the program with a lesser number of units. 

Benefits: 50% Discount on tuition fees on all MMC programs for up to 3 legitimate children. The remaining 50% plus other fees relevant to the enrollment of the child may be paid thru salary deduction but must be fully paid within the term.

Retention Policy: Regular employment of the employee.

 

 

MCM Cup 4.0

Sponsor: Malayan Colleges Mindanao (A Mapúa School), Inc.

Description: The scholarship grant is for the Top 3 winners of the MCM Cup events.

Benefits: They are entitled to receive the following.

CHAMPION 100% discount on tuition and L/F/D fees
1ST PLACE 50% discount on tuition and L/F/D fees
2ND PLACE 25% discount on tuition and L/F/D fees

Applicable for one (1) academic year only.

Requirements: Original MCM Cup certificate awarded by MCM.

 

 

SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL

Academic Honoree Scholarship

Sponsor: Malayan Colleges Mindanao (A Mapúa School), Inc.

Description: The scholarship grants are given to applicants who are Rank No. 1 and Rank No. 2 in a school class of at least 20 Grade 10 completers.

Benefits:

  • Rank 1 – 100% tuition and L/F/D fee discount for two (2) consecutive semesters.
  • Rank 2 – 50% tuition and L/F/D fee discount for two (2) consecutive semesters.

Retention Policy: The student must have no failing grades and obtain a credit term average of 85% or better at the end of the term.

Requirements: Original certificate of ranking with school seal

 

YGC & Ayala Promotional Discount

Sponsor: Malayan Colleges Mindanao (A Mapúa School), Inc.

Description: The scholarship grant is for the MCM Grade 11 Top 20 Students of the previous school year.

Benefits: 

  • Rank 1 to 10 Students (AA FULL): Students are entitled to receive a 100% discount on tuition and L/F/D fees for two (2) consecutive semesters.
  • Rank 11 to 20 Students (AA HALF): Students are entitled to receive a 50% discount on tuition and L/F/D discount fees for two (2) consecutive semesters.

Description: Bukas was founded in February 2019 with the vision of building a better tomorrow for Filipino youths, starting with affordable tuition installment plans. The installment plan allows for full tuition through flexible payment plans in 12 monthly installments with affordable interest rates.

BPI Foundation’s Pagpugay Scholarship Fund — College

Sponsor: BPI Foundation

Description: The BPI Foundation (BPIF) recognizes the great contribution of the medical front-liners in the fight against COVID-19. To honor their heroic efforts, BPIF offers Pagpugay, a scholarship fund program to support the next of kin of the medical front-liners who passed away in the line of duty against COVID-19. Scholarship grants are subject to the availability of slots.

Scholarship Eligibility:

  1. Qualified next of kin of the following medical front-liners who passed away in the line of duty against COVID-19:
    1. Doctor
    2. Nurses
    3. Medical technologists
    4. Community health workers
    5. Administrative, utility, and support services personnel in health care facilities

If the deceased is married, the priority beneficiary is the children. If single, the beneficiary can be next of kin up to the 2nd degree of consanguinity.

  1. Applicants should be college/university students (1st year-4th year/5th year) of Malayan Colleges Mindanao.
  2. To qualify, eligible students must have and maintain a General Weighted Average (GWA) of 85% or its equivalent and/or prevailing University standards for the previous academic year (for incoming 1st year) or for the previous semester (for incoming 2nd year-5th year).

Application Requirements:

  2. Endorsement letter, duly signed by the spouse or any relative of legal age and within the second degree of consanguinity from the medical front-liner.
  3. Endorsement letter, duly signed by the authorized representative of the hospital or health care facility where the medical front-liner was assigned
  4. Original or authenticated copies of the following:
    1. Course curriculum
    2. If a child of the front-liner, birth certificate of the applicant
    3. If a sibling of the front-liner, birth certificate of the applicant and the front-liner showing their common parent
    4. If a widow/widower of the front-liner, marriage certificate of the medical front-liner.
    5. PRC ID or License ID of the medical front-liner
    6. Death certificate of the medical front-liner, indicating COVID-19 or complications due to COVID-19 as the cause of death
    7. Latest ITR of parents/guardian of the applicant
    8. Latest previous academic year Transcript of Records or Copy of Grades
    9. Certificate of Good Moral Character
  5. Only the applications with complete requirements will be processed.
  6. Scanned copies of the application form and other supporting documents may be submitted. Hard copies will be required once applicants are selected for the scholarship.
