MapúaMCM Cup 2020 V3.0 Day 2: Math, Science and Sports!
Day 2 of the MapúaMCM Cup 2020 V3.0 started off with more academically-inclined contests such as the Math Quiz Show and Science Quiz Show held at the MapúaMCM Auditorium. The former started in the morning while the latter began in the afternoon. The Basketball Championship, as well as the third-place playoff, also began simultaneously with the Math Quiz Show.
The Maths Quiz Show comprised of three rounds — Easy, Average, and Difficult Round, covering a scope of topics ranging from Precalculus to Probability. Tagum City National High School (TCNHS) was hailed the champion of the Math Quiz Show with 30 points. Philippine Science High School Southern Mindanao Campus (PSHS-SMC) finished as the first runner-up with a total of 21 points, and Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School (DRANHS) finished as the second runner-up with a total of 14 points.
In addition, the Science Quiz Show covered topics ranging from Earth and Life Science to Chemistry and Physics. Philippine Science High School Southern Mindanao Campus (PSHS-SMC) was the champion of the Science Quiz Show, garnering a total of 38 points. Daniel R. Aguinaldo High School (DRANHS) placed second runner-up with a total of 36 points, while Davao City National High School (DCNHS) placed second runner-up with a total of 34 points.
For the Basketball Championships, Philippine Academy of Sakya defeated Philippine Nikkei Jin Kai International School with a score of 70-91. For the third-place playoff, Ford Academy of the Arts won with a score of 91-75, playing against Rizal Memorial Colleges.
The 19 participating schools of the Math Quiz Show were Tagum City National High School (TCNHS), Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School (DRANHS), Christian Colleges of Southeast Asia (CCSA), Davao City National High School (DCNHS), Brokenshire College Toril, Brainworks, San Pedro College (SPC), Southern Philippines Baptist Theological Seminary, Holy Cross of Mintal, Precious International School of Davao (PISD), Davao Wisdom Academy, Panabo National High School, Davao Central College, Philippine Women’s College, Philippine Science High School Southern Mindanao Campus (PSHS-SMC), Holy Child College of Davao (Mintal Campus), Assumpta School of Tagum, and Davao Chong Hua High School.
Moreover, the Science Quiz Show was participated by 20 schools, namely Precious International School of Davao (PISD), Holy Cross of Mintal, Southern Philippines Baptist Theological Seminary, Brokenshire College Toril, Jesus Soriano National High School, General Baptist Bible College, Davao City National High School, Christian Colleges of Southeast Asia, Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School, Tagum City National High School, Starland International School, Davao Wisdom Academy, Davao Central College, Philippine Science High School Southern Mindanao Campus, Panabo National High School, Davao Chong Hua High School, Philippine Women’s College, Ma-a National High School, Holy Child College of Davao (Mintal Campus), and Assumpta School of Tagum.
