MapúaMCM Cup 2020 V3.0 Day 3: Poetry, Music and Final Awarding! 

January 17, 2019 — the third and last day of the MapúaMCM Cup 2020 V3.0 — held a variety of exciting events ranging from the Jazz Chant to the Battle of the Bands, and an exhibition game played between the Mapúa Malayan Colleges Mindanao’s varsity team, MapúaMCM Legions, and the winner of the MapúaMCM Cup Basketball Finals, the Philippine Academy of Sakya. 

The Jazz Chant required all participating schools to present the poem, “A Psalm of Life” by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow in their own interpretation. The Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School (DRANHS) bagged victory and were declared as champions for the event. Tagum City National High School (TCNHS) ranked 1st runner-up, and Davao City National High School (DCNHS) placed 2nd runner-up.

The eight participating schools of the Jazz Chant competition were Holy Child College of Davao, Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School, Davao Wisdom Academy, Rizal Memorial College, Tagum City National High School, Davao City National High School, Jesus J. Soriano National High School, and Davao City Special National High School.

Simultaneously, the Philippine Academy of Sakya rocked the rim as they win over the MapúaMCM Legions during their exhibition match with a score of 88-62.

Furthermore, for the Battle of the Bands, each band played two songs. The first song was their own original composition with original lyrics and melody/music about “Youth Empowerment”, and the second song was a cover of the “Yugto” by Rico Blanco. Christian Colleges of Southeast Asia were declared the champion, with Tagum City National High School as the 1st runner-up and Brokenshire College Toril as the 2nd runner-up. 

There were 13 participating schools for the Battle of the Bands namely Davao Wisdom Academy, Arriesgado College Foundation, Brokenshire College Toril, Davao City National High School, Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School, Tagum City National High School, Christian Colleges of Southeast Asia, Holy Cross of Mintal, Calinan National High School, Holy Child College of Davao (Jacinto Campus), Philippine Science High School Southern Mindanao Campus, Rizal Memorial Colleges, and Assumpta School of Tagum.

Afterwards, the highlight of the event came about — The Awarding Ceremony for all the winners and placers of the entire MapúaMCM Cup 2020 3.0 event. Each winner was awarded medals, certificates and cash prizes. 

The winners for the Digital Poster Making Contest was announced with the Champion being Philippine Women’s College. Davao City National High School bagged 1st Runner-Up, and  Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School took 2nd runner-up. 

Then, came the announcement for the Overall Champion of MapúaMCM Cup 2020 V3.0. Starting with the 2nd runner-up awarded to Tagum City National High School who were awarded with a 10K cash prize. Following this, 1st runner-up went to Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School who were awarded a 20K cash prize. Last but not least, the Overall Grand Champion of the MapúaMCM Cup 2020 V3.0 was awarded to Davao City National High School, who took to the stage to receive their medals, certificates and 30K cash prize.
