Mapúa MCM holds its Program Advisory Panel (PAP) Assembly

On May 13, 2023 the first Program Advisory Panel (PAP) Assembly was held at the Mapúa Malayan Colleges Mindanao Auditorium with the theme “Panagtapok sa Mapúa MCM: Fostering Greater Stakeholder Engagement for Excellent & Relevant Academic Delivery”.

The event showcased MMCM’s milestones and achievements over its 5-year operation. It also revisited MMCM’s vision, mission, and motto, in which the PAP Assembly is one of the events that allowed the institution to take steps in striving further in its vision and mission, and reinforce its motto.

The PAP was attended by the PAP members which consist of Mapúa MCM alumni, government representatives, professors, business owners, managers, consultants, and executives such as CEOs and COOs who are experts in various industries, including but not limited to business, education, medicine, engineering, multimedia arts, communication, and IT.

With the Vision that “Mapúa Malayan Colleges Mindanao shall be a school of global standards and of great significance locally and beyond”, the PAP sets to realize these goals within the next five years, as stated by Engr. Alejandro H. Ballado, Jr, EVP-COO in his opening message.

In the afternoon, the breakout sessions per department took place in the academic building. Here, the members discussed various matters for their respective departments,  such as Program Educational Objectives, Program Objectives (PO), etc. The departments also presented the curriculum and conducted an open forum.

“One thing that really stood out to me was how important it is to include real-world, practical applications in our curriculum, especially in areas like cybersecurity and data privacy for the programs offered by the College of Computer and Information Science.” Christopher Joshua Dellosa, a part-time CCIS Faculty member, and the Learning Management System Coordinator for Innovation in Digital Environments and Learning Solutions (IDEALS) shared.

Despite the distance and time differences of PAP members based outside the Philippines, it was still an optimal experience for all participants considering it was a hybrid event. Overall, the PAP Assembly was a success, and meaningful insights and conversations were held to further the development of Mapúa MCM.

Through the PAP Assembly, the institution aims to collaborate and engage with its members, and proactively gain feedback in helping Mapúa MCM achieve its vision and carry out its mission of extending a world-class education in Mindanao.
